Antares Capital Announces Investment in
Nueva Cocina Foods, Inc.
December 13, 2007 MELBOURNE, FL – Antares Capital Corporation (Antares) announced today that it has closed on an investment in Nueva Cocina Foods, Inc. of Miami, Florida.
Antares led the $2.25 million financing, which will be used by Nueva Cocina to fund the Company’s continued market expansion.
Nueva Cocina provides gourmet quality, all natural Latin cuisine products which are sold through major supermarket chains and independent grocers throughout the United States. The Company is building a highly distinctive and valuable brand franchise and establishing itself as the leading premium Latin food brand in the grocery and food services industry.
Nueva Cocina is the first to offer the flavorful and exciting cuisine of Latin America in a range of high quality, convenient, and healthy product forms. The Company’s current product line includes rice mixes, soups and seasonings. Nueva Cocina will expand with a line of frozen appetizers and entrees, marinades, and adapt retail product lines to restaurant/institutional markets.
The Company is led by its co-founder, Celeste De Armas, a senior food industry executive with entrepreneurial and corporate experience. Ms. De Armas has spent 17 years with major, multinational food companies including Nestle S.A., Carnation Company, and General Mills.
